Volunteering
One of our core values at The Priory Academy LSST is Respect. To help students develop respect for those around them, we encourage our students to take part in volunteering activities of their choice. Many of our students undertake exciting volunteering opportunities both in and out of the Academy, and we often find that many of these students develop a real sense of responsibility through their volunteering.
Our Fundraising and Community Team (FACT) complete much work for charity. Every year our students choose three charities – one local, one national and one international – to support. Together, in recent years, we have collectively raised thousands of pounds for various charities and causes including Comic Relief, Children in Need, St Barnabas and Macmillan Cancer Support. We also have our Priory Plot students and staff, who have helped build our wonderful allotment from scratch and work hard to maintain this.
Students who are part of the CCF, the Duke of Edinburgh programme or the Introduction to Teaching Scheme are further good examples of our volunteers, but there are many other opportunities through which to become involved in volunteering within The Priory Academy LSST, including numerous peer support programmes. Students seeking volunteering opportunities should speak to:
Years 7-11 - Mr Strawson
Sixth Form - Mrs Billett
